An 84-YEAR-old man was viciously attacked during a robbery. The victim was walking into his home, when he was approached from behind by the offender, who punched him in the chest causing him to fall backwards, but he did not suffer any other injuries as a result of the assault. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at an address on Queen Street, in Dukinfield, at around 11.50am on Thursday 27 September. The offender went into the house and stole money from the man’s wallet before running off. He is described as white, 5ft 9in, of stocky build. He had an oval face with a pale complexion, short dark hair and was wearing glasses, a black tracksuit with a white logo on the left breast, and a black cap. Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 9260 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Well according to Councillor John Taylor there is no crime and yob violence in Dukinfield. We are constantly reading about people being mugged and beaten in Duki. Taylor wants us all to go out onto the streets and take the law into our own hands. The good folk of Dukinfield want action against these yobs on their streets. Words from the likes of Cllr Taylor are cheap, he would rather have meetings with the thugs causing this violence. Bring back the birch for these scumbags.
I would vote for that Roy. I am sure after a good birching they would think again before committing such a cowardly act.
