Dukinfield Residents Urged To Come And Shred It

Dukinfield will be holding their first ever ‘shred-it event’ to encourage the community to safeguard their personal data. The event will be held on Saturday 1 September from 11am to 2pm at Central Estate Dukinfield Wellington Parade shops and all members of the community are welcome to bring their confidential information to be destroyed safely. PC Andrew Edwards Community Beat Manager for the Dukinfield ward said: “People may not think the contents of their rubbish bin are particularly valuable, but throwing away personal papers such as credit card and bank statements or even addresses, could be very costly if they fall into the wrong hands. “Identity fraud is a growing crime and we need people to be aware of the consequences of throwing this information out. By holding events like this, hopefully we can raise awareness of this crime and provide further advice on the steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of identity theft.” New Charter Housing Trust, the local police, Tameside Patrollers and Central Residents Action Group have arranged the event along with other local agencies. Tony Powell, Director of Tenancy Services at New Charter said: “We are very pleased to be involved in this innovative approach in helping the community safeguard their personal data. “Unfortunately, nowadays you cannot be too careful and we hope the residents in the area will use the opportunity to destroy any confidential information”. There will be a ‘Shred-it’ truck at the event, which is equipped with custom-built shredders that can efficiently destroy everything from confidential papers to CDs.

Great! Now I can do something with the mountains of BNP leaflets I have had from Roy West.

Yes, the BNP are very concerned with environmental matters. I think they would approve.

Roy West ,or is it Freddie Mercury, is very concerned about the environment. Look at all the clean-ups he's done in Dukinfield.

I sit alone and watch your light, my only friend through teenage nights and everything I had to know I heard it on my radio.

Let's hope you never leave old friend, like all good things on you we depend, so stick around cos we might miss you, when we grow tired of all this visual.

You had the time , you had the power, YOU'VE YET TO HAVE YOUR FINEST HOUR ROY WEST..
