Last month an event was organised by "Tobacco Free Futures" a "social enterprise" which campaigns against tobacco in the region. The event studied how tobacco companies use colourful packaging to seduce young people into a life time of "addiction". But the youth of Tameside are not alone! They have an organisation. a "Big Brother" to help them. Step forward firmly and with a steady tread --The New Charter Youth Group--represented by 15 year old Wesley Beard.
Not one to mince his words Wesley goes to the heart of the matter. "..the colours and design (of the packaging) affect people's decisions (on what to buy)" He supports the Government's draft plan to introduce standardised cigarette packaging.
Now far be it from us to be critical of young people taking an interest in their society. But there is something unwholesome about this matter. A group of young people, some of whom are well under the age of majority, being involved in a political campaign much beloved by the social engineers and the corporate state advocates. Having obtained control over housing, schools, and the media together with substantial influence with the police and local council we now see New Charter forming a Youth Movement (sorry Youth Group). One is reminded of the old Socialist Mantra "From the cradle to the grave, From the womb to the tomb. From the erection to the resurection." By Mussolini's description of the corporate state Tameside is truly a Corporate and Fascist state.

If you stand up to new charter they can be beaten.
I know of two vulnerable women they took to court and both beat them.
New charter target vulnerable women but don't give in to them.
Let me guess this youth groups other political principles!
Typical labour rhetoric, of course, demands to protect public services that labour began the privatisation of, against direct payment of housing benefits to housing associations, support the development of greenbelt land, pro-immigration (more tenants!)
And so on.
What a bizarre thing to do, a youth group for a housing association. I imagine the few kids on the playground don't half get stick for not being part of it :P
They should set up an anti-cannabis league instead. Cigarettes at least don't cause psychosis, destroy motivation and eradicate frontal parts of the brain.
Or perhaps it would be better if they just stuck to social housing.
I actually think it is a wonderful idea. Well done New Charter for taking the initiative.
Yes, eradicate smoking completely and push up even further the NHS and pension costs of an ageing population. Whatever affliction smoking causes, old age will eventually cause something similar and (believe it or not) will also kill you just like smoking. Heart attack, stroke, cancer... all caused by old age along with a whole host of other diseases. In one breath our politicians are telling us about the evils of tobacco, alcohol, salt... then in the next breath there's to be no pension at 65 because we're living too long. Can't do right for doing wrong.
@23:40 "significant breach of the freedon of speech"
I'm glad that one judge in Tameside at least can see through their bullshit.
TC
The comment from joy is spam, trying to get a backlink from Tameside Citizen to her/his own site. The spelling and bullshit give it away.
Spam comments are a lazy method of getting a higher ranking from backlinks in the Google search engines and the majority are sent by automatic software and easily spotted.
This is a very good article as always on new charter.
All the more important view everything to be incitement.
New charter housing don't want you to have a view on anything at all.
They have housing enforcers scanning the blog every day for comments they view to be incitement.
Remember, when the judge said "significant breach of the freedom of speech"
He did not say that for nothing.
New charter just went off on one and printed off hundreds of posts.
The judge said "you've just wasted my time reading through all this" "whatever happend to free speech in this country"
This article is spot on, new charter housing (not just a landlord) the big brother, are watching you.

Thanks for the "heads up". I was puzzled by the posting but your communication clarified the situation. I shall be more careful in future, again Thank You.
I saw an article about a group that works in schools. It's called CHIPS: Campaign Against Homophobia In Primary Schools. In Birmingham some parents have formed groups to counter this organisation.
It isn't the business of agenda driven outsiders to tell other people's children, especially such young children, about sexuality. At an appropriate age they should be told the basic biological facts and be left to form their own opinions, not be inculcated by those with agendas that many vehemently disagree with.

Valid points there.

Scroll down to TUESDAY, where you will see "OUT LOUD" a LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) group meet at the Pottinger Street Pavilion. The age range is 13+ years.
Since the age of consent is 16, the starting age of this group seems a little low.
This Blog makes no judgement on these issues EXCEPT to question the low starting age of the group. These issues we feel should be dealt with within the family and not at meetings in Council Premises.
If a group of men started a heterosexuality rights group and invited 13 year old girls to join they'd rightly get a visit from the police.
Anyone who wishes to promote surgical removal of healthy genitalia as 'normal' to children is both warped and to be viewed with the highest suspicion.
