E-petition by Denton community champion Carl Simmons

"To demand an Act of Parliament which would compel all local Councils to review the number of Ward Councillors. Reducing numbers either by one third or by two thirds, whichever be the more appropriate for the individual authority concerned, subject to a decision by Referendum of the local electors within each local authority".

Bravo Mr Simmons! This type of tireless year round campaigning by community champions such as Carl Simmons really helps keep the fat cats and freeloaders in check. If you believe there are too many paid ward councillors in Tameside you can sign the e-petition calling for their numbers to be reduced, should the people judge a reduction appropriate following a vote via a referendum. You can sign by clicking here. Tameside Citizen

Signed it. Well done, again, Mr Simmons for standing up to be counted. What a pity there are so few like you in our borough.

If you cut the councilors in Tameside then you will probably be left with more chaff than wheat but on the plus side its nearly all chaff anyway.

We're exempt. Why? WE JUST ARE said...

Quinn and his wife have had £123,980.38 in allowances...in the last two years!

RE allowances: Probably only tip of the iceberg, thats just what they have to admit to. I doubt that removing a few seats see the right heads roll. Maybe if there was more councilors of better integrity the current establishment would have to listen more.
