Labour take Hyde Werneth

The loss of this formerly safe Conservative seat was so predictable. When the immigrant community united behind the Labour candidate the Conservatives, nor anybody else stood a chance. The number of activists mobilised by Cllr Miah’s campaign team was breathtaking and the result therefore was inevitable.

Doreen Dickenson held Stalybridge South with a comfortable majority and Labour has a new councillor in Audenshaw. I will post the full results in due course.

Hyde Werneth:

Raja Mia, Labour: 1923

Floyd Paterson, Conservative: 1470

Stephanie Miselle, UKIP: 243

June Gill, Green: 226

Roy West comes second in Dukinfield and is mocked while in forced absentia by Cllr
Brian Wild

Pay Cut for 2 new councillors?
I trust that Adam White, who was already being paid by J Reynolds (ie all of us) to work on Tameside case load will see his pay and hours cut so he can do the same job for his Council Monies.
Same for Jan Jackson.

Matt Holgate ha ha what a wanker.

Wild's a typical Tameside Labour councillor. And certainly a typical Dukinfield ward one.
The fact that he saw fit to focus on a minor candidate in such a bullying, arrogant way in his speech shows that Mr West has succeeded, whether he stands for the BNP or not, in getting under the skin of the councillors in this particular ward by exposing their expenses and allowances to a wider public.
It may interest Mr Wild to know that Mr West's share of the vote actually rose from 10.8% last year to 12.4% this year.
Many of the Labour councillors swaggered onto stage for their acceptance speeches which were usually mumbling, inaudible, brainless cant. Claire Reynolds at least made herself heard despite the run of the mill content.
Labour's local vice-like grip on the apathetic, braindead, wilfully blind, traitorous and parasitic sections of the electorate gained a further stranglehold last night. But the fact remains that gaining a mere 17% of the Tameside electorate in 18 wards allows them to maintain absolute control in the borough. If a FAIR and GENUINELY DEMOCRATIC voting system, such as the Mixed Member PR system used all over the world, was ever introduced we would see an entirely different picture in the council chamber. The share of the vote received would be directly reflected in the number of councillors per party. The current, totally undemocratic system whether locally or nationally, is designed only to maintain the status quo and the main parties' stranglehold on power.

Totally agree. If people knew that voting for smaller parties could get a few councillors elected they would be far more likely to vote for them. Large numbers of the electorate know the system itself is rigged and accordingly don't bother to vote.

In Bradford the Muslim Party, Respect, won five seats out of the seven they stood in, including ousting the Labour leader.
No wonder Labour are so desperate to keep the 'community' vote onside: Don't mention Halal, don't mention women's rights, don't mention vote rigging, don't mention immigration, don't mention ghettoisation, don't mention the Islamic population explosion, don't mention Islamic failure (or desire) to integrate, etc etc.
Labour would sell their Grandmothers for a vote so selling their country down the river is a given.
Best of luck to Respect, I hope they prosper. Who knows they might even wake up the slumbering dross that constitutes much of the British population.

Councillor John Taylor is it true, that you asked a member of the EDL in Tameside, to beat up Roy West.
This is a serious alleagtion against you.
And more Enquiries are being made to the person you contacted to carry out this crime.

Considering all that's happened, that is an outstanding result for Roy West. I only usually vote in general elections but yesterday I voted for Roy West as a mark of gratitude for his tireless efforts in exposing the expenses scandal. Well done RW

The Hyde Werneth result was no surprise to anybody who can see the way demographics in that ward (or indeed nationally) are going. The turnout was about 15% higher than the average. Expect more of this, soon.

Strong rumour we now have a challenge to councillor Bells leadership of his group of eeeermm 5 .
The Tories did have a campaign pledge to reduce the number of councillors ,looks like the Labour party helped them achieve that pledge.

From above article....

Tameside’s Conservatives have slammed the increasing number of Labour Party ‘couples’ in seats of power within the borough.

Before last night’s count got underway, there were five Labour Party couples, but three more have now joined them.

Leader of the Opposition, Cllr John Bell, said he found the familial situation ‘quite phenomenal’

When asked why there were so many, he said: “Becoming a councillor in Tameside is well paid. Remuneration is high here, the highest outside of Wigan and the city centre. The lowest is Trafford, which is Conservative-run.”

Crucial to the results is that the last Labour government customised the entire voting system to their own benefit by allowing on demand postal votes to Labour's immigrant and hand-out society (both beneficiaries and bureaucrats) bases.

Labour has spent more than eight years on a relentless campaign to get their supporters and clients postal votes, and it works. Yet again, the average local election turn-out of about one third is made up of a 65 - 70% turn-out of postal voters and a mere 15% of people voting on the day.

This gives them a huge advantage over whichever party is challenging.

There were very few 'Vote Labour' (or indeed anyone else) posters in the borough this year but in Hyde Werneth (or Verrnett as it's now known) there were masses.

Ian Lord said...

Over 34,000 postal votes (20% of Tameside's electorate) went out. Last I heard over 18,000 had been returned with more to come.
It is an undisputed fact that Labour are by far the greatest beneficiaries of this system that THEY set up to target certain groups and types of voter. Labour got just over 30,000 votes. It's entirely possible half of these or more came from postal votes. The security of the postal vote system and its openness to cheating and manipulation was likened to 'a banana republic' by one British Judge a few years ago.

'Bog off', so speaks the party of the people. Mind you, looking at the number of worthless, scum, parasites and traitors in Britain's modern electorate no wonder the scum, parasite, traitor party are doing so well.

Common knowledge that Liam Billington and other young Tories worked to get Floyd Patterson the Werneth nomination with a view of making him leader.
Like all Liams political adventures it ended in a disaster the lads not up to it,I was not present last night but did anyone see Liam anywhere near Councillor Bell, I bet not.
The Labour team had more people out last weekend than the whole Tory team had out for all the election period enough said.
Someone caused the rift in Werneth and we all know who it was don't we Liam.
