This is a very well produced leaflet, miles better than the usual dour offering called the Labour Rose. It is large in size, printed on glossy A2 paper and the content will appeal to those who are suffering in the current economic climate.
Labour conveniently forget to mention that all the issues highlighted were actually created by them and inherited by the current coalition government. This however will not register in the mind of the average Labour vote.
The local Labour big wigs know all about the meaning of Chutzpah and they are so confident that their betrayal of the working class has passed unnoticed that they actually use a newspaper cutting with the headline “Betrayal of Trust” in the leaflet. That is the essence of Chutzpah and the local Mafiosi obviously picked up the Chutzpah trick on some of those ‘free’ trips to Tel Aviv.
The Conservative opposition in this borough have got a hard act to follow if they are to better this enormous leaflet. I look forward to seeing what they come up with.

There are enough morons to vote for them, and enough electors of the apathetic and pig ignorant types to ensure that a paltry 1200 out of 9000 on the electoral roll of each ward will probably get the Tameside labour mafia back in. Meanwhile Tameside continues its decline and the reverse evolution of its citizens. Go down to Ashton town centre if you want see what I mean and see them grunting, shouting and shuffling.
A few points...
The benefits of the reorganisation mean we no longer have some bureacratic body like the PCT wasting money and resources. Instead, we are giving patients more choice over their treatment. It's the NHS status quo who don't like this.
As for the police, there are an extra 15 police officers on the streets of Tameside. The word officer is a little vague. Think "waste disposal officer" for the council and it is just the PC term of calling them a bin man. The police are overstaffed in resources like IT, Vehicle Maintainence, Communications and HR. This is where you find the axe falling.
Youth unemployment is high. Especially Tameside which has suffered under generations of Labour rule which has failed to accomodate the private sector coupled with one of the worst education systems in the country. Tameside relies on retail and the public sector. Both of which are shrinking.
As for the Tories taking money away from schools. Wouldn't Labour have reduced the education budget? The problem is with new schools, is that they don't fundamentally change the way people learn. For that you need good leadership and good teachers.
This leaflet is just full of National issues,which Local Councillors can do nothing about, also the Police article is lies & absolute scaremongering.
To say the Labour Council froze the Council Tax is technically right but it's only because the Conservative led Government gave them £1.9 million which equates to a 2.5% rise that they were able to freeze it.
Fact Check and anon, you are indeed right. The problem is that the average Labour is a drone who either votes Labour because it's a family tradition or because they believe the world owes them something and you get more for doing nothing under Labour. The other parties have to convince the electorate that the Labour Party are the enemies of the workers and not their saviours.

I've just had Tameside Labour's latest self promotion leaflet, it's called the Tameside Citizen and has lots of interesting articles on Labour councillors doing all sorts of amazing things. They truly are superb and have played a significant part in the borough's ongoing degeneration into: one of the most difficult places in the country to find a job; transforming Denton and Droylsden into the 9th and 10th worst towns in Britain for the highest proportion of closed shops in the high street; Gauleiter Robinson's ongoing campaign to charge EVERYONE for parking EVERYWHERE has provided another massive boost for town centre trade. It goes on and on.

Received a response to my FOI re A.Gwynne MP continuing to surround himself in press photographs with young children where he can illustrate his political
power over young kids.
The response from TMBC offered regardless of its assertions offer no detailed specific clarifications of what I required.
We are all paying the salaries of these non impartial objective
group of individuals who are obviosly biased towards those ruling Councillors who are involved in the staffing and promotion of the created sycophantic Council protectors.
Think back to the days when those with political asperations held public open forum meetings prior to elections where their objectives,and shortcomings could be questioned openly.
Now we have the mealy-mouthed individuals who unload letters to the Advertiser/Reporter plus Posters and Leaflets which is their own constructed idea of democracy (suited of course to thein inabilities to face the music)
Numerous times over recent years I challenged a number of TMBC Councillors and MP to an "open public forum"debate where I for one could expand on the truth they prefer to hide.
Not one other than R.Oldham ever responded in anyway,and his was simply a cynical arrogant rebuff.
True democracy accountability and
objectivity died years ago in Tameside and resulted in a barricaded group of
individuals not fit for purpose.
Every potential Councillors for years was scrutinised and selected by R.Oldham,except with one exception which was carefully organised behind his back but then met with uncontrolled anger by R.Oldham.
Dictatorships create inefficient administrations held together with personal financial benefits,favours and promotions known to be far beyond individuals capabilities.
Genuine open Public Forums prior to Elections should be re-instated
in Tameside which would terrify quite a number of local politicians
but which would commence a degree of accountability because its our pockets and purses they plunder and deposit in their banks and
possessions.
Surely a worthwile question on TC
regarding the desperate need for Public Forum debates prior to Elections would be a positive move
for the electorate.

Its the best leaflet from any party for years,and ours was delivered with a knock on thy door, our street was full of Labour people no others have been within a mile of our street for years.
Labour get our vote this year the visit and quality leaflets backed up by their health campaign did for us.
Some years ago I requested to see all the TMBC Councillors Declaration of Interests which were then under the
control of the then Tameside Chief Executive as part of his duties to ensure the files were updated annually..
Having copied quite a number of the files as I say in a provided office at Ashton I saw some Councillors were in breach of Government Law
and had deliberately not declared their outside financial interests and positions they held in other organisations where a possible conflict of interests could occur
So gaps between 3-12 years were obvious,showing a definate deliberate non compliance of regulations.
Some of those Councillors concerned are still !! TMBC members,so just remember Councillors I enjoy keeping detailed and accurate files for years so don`t come the acid those Councillors still in power and to assist your memories Greenwood was the then TMBC Chief Exec and cast when you preferred to keep stum on your outside activities.

was the senior TMBC Administrator and just to indicate one instance after the sheer panic to update files occured and when I monitored the updated changes R.Oldham had almost a page full of outside interests.
I contacted Blair and his Cabinet Members because this was an extremely serious situation with
many implications,however after repeating these exposures to senior Labour Ministers I am still years later awaiting a response.
