Future of Tameside Radio secured thanks to deal with New Charter Housing Trust

Tameside Radio has signed an agreement with New Charter Housing Trust that should enable the community station to continue operating.

Tameside, which is run by an army of volunteers, had been struggling to stay on the air, after public funding dried up and private support proved difficult to find in a challenging economic environment.

However, the deal with New Charter, secured after six months of negotiations, provides stability, with the two agreeing to work together on providing broadcast training modules for local youngsters through the New Charter Academy School. This is also expected to boost the station’s volunteer ranks.

New Charter’s group chief executive Ian Munro said of the tie-in: "Community engagement is the clear link between the two organisations and our aim is to build on our mutual strengths.

“By working together I have no doubt that we can deliver tangible benefits to the whole of Tameside through the creation of stronger communities via vibrant communications and sustainable initiatives."

Programme controller Andy Hoyle said that Tameside Radio’s “future is now secure” and “together we can plan to grow the stations profile, audience and a wider range of community initiatives." www.howdo.co.uk

I am pleased Tameside FM will not being going off air. It is an excellent local radio station with something for all tastes ranging from ear bashing old school techno and house right across the spectrum to brass band music. It also has interesting community items relevant to the borough of Tameside as well as unrivalled coverage of local sporting events. I listened to a fantastic half time report last week from a football match involving Hyde United. I cannot remember the name of the correspondent who was phoning in with the half time report but you could tell it was not a professional summariser and that is what made it so good. Instead of the usual smarmy types who are full of their own self importance, people like Alan Green of BBC 5 Live, here you had a local correspondent with a real passion for the game telling it as was in his own words - brilliant! I am not so happy as you TC about this.
According to latest documents filed at Companies House the Chair of the Board of Directors of NEW CHARTER HOUSING TRUST LTD is Cllr Ged Cooney with Cllr Maria Bailey as another director. Both Labour.

Will Tameside Radio be able to maintain it's independance?

Excellent and informative point as usual Mr Jones. I can sees in 'New Tameside' the mug...sorry voluntary sector is going to take on an increasinly large role whilst the upper echelons (elected and appointed) continue to be exampt from the effects of the recession.

This is how it has worked with the press for at least a century.
In the past a newspaper would go broke and then to its luck some shadowy group of people would turn up and buy the organ with money gathered from everybody in their group.
The paper would then become the mouthpiece for that group and do its political bidding.
Then this group of people would apply pressure through the papers and through lobbying to privatise the banks of their home nation (which this same group happened to have interest in)
They will push for wars against nations that dont do the same or in some way threaten this small groups parasitic interests.
It is interesting to learn that historical knowledge still manages to compete for the precious time of New Charters management, which is otherwise spent stealing from the poor to give to the rich.

I would never have allowed Tameside radio to even to get a license to broadcast.
Why ??
Because this is the person responsible for creating Tameside Radio at the top of the Tameside T.E.L scandal a close friend of Local MP`s and R.Oldham who got themselves and families stitched up in this T.E.L organisation to rip money for themselves until thew Radio 4 Programme Face The Facts exposed this disgusting TMBC scandal, which resulted in the Police investigation and a House of Commons debate.
The scandal became another TMBC cover up with MP`s and Councillors abandoning ship rapidly out of the devious situation.
Put the T.E.L facts on this site and then see The Facts about the Tameside Radio creator.
This national scandal should have resulted in people being put in the dock, but in Tameside this would never happen regardless.

I think there was a story a few years back on this blog about the boss of Tameside Radio being an ex-Labour councillor. I think it was related to a sex scandal and involved two female councillors fighting on the steps of Ashton town hall.

Tameside Radio has one objective that of securing the status quo in Tameside and supporting the present administration.
No-one does anything for nowt and here we have another secured link now between a Council and a Radio broadcasting station.
This needs a full investigation because I think it breaches the Broadcasting Licence requirements that of impartiality regarding Political parties and broadcast media.
Nothing in Tameside is impartial it runs on cartels and quangos of
devious and sleaze ridden individuals whose objectives are entirely linked to power and thereby creating their own wealth from your pockets.
The word thick skinned SHITE is appropriate for the TMBC administrators and we need to be rid of this crammed full cesspit.

Lay off them you cranks. It is a harmless local radio station not some kind if blinkin global international conspiricy.

Tuned in, that's a statement. What's your argument.

TMBC = BENT said...

Free labour, there was a letter in the Advertiser about a volunteer clean up. Don't we pay Council Tax for the council to keep the Borough clean. TMBC encourage such 'community spirited' activities as they are free and money can then be spent on keeping the gravy train going instead.
Anyone who works for nothing, unless it's a genuinely charitable cause, is a mug, end of.

Tuned In calls those who can relate to facts concerning the Tameside Radio owners and TMBC as "cranks"

Your obviously serious lacking knowledge of the TEL scandal which your TMBC was up to ins neck in.

Those involved should have been taken in custody.

What is TEL? I honestly do not know.

Yes I remember that story well. If my memory serves me correctly, it was our friend tonydj who unearthed the newspaper report from 1991 regarding the catfight on the steps of Ashton town hall.

TC, could you remind us of the earlier story?

Of course we know that Wildy is not going to tell the truth about Taylor being interviewed under police caution for assault is he?

In answer to Tuned in Tameside Enterprises Ltd was a company set up by Tameside Council to run old peoples homes, the main players were Roy Oldham, his wife Margaret, Simon Walker a Labour Cllr at the time (who left under the cloud of TEL, went to work for Owen Oyston who was a big friend of Roys & now runs Tameside Radio) Shirley Stonier who was Chair of Social Services (John Taylor was her Deputy)& her husband Paul Stonier.
The company lost 2m staff were made redundant, some lost their pensions whilst the people named above lived the high life.
A couple of examples,in the accounts they paid £480,000 for Carpets. There were no new carpets in the homes.
Simon walker & Paul Stonier as a two man committe voted them selves a massive pay rise + two new BMW's. I could go on but this gives you a small picture of what went on with these champagne socialist. After the scandal broke Shirley Stonier came off the Council set up a private home care company. John Taylor took her job as Chairman of Social services, her company won every contract from the Council, she has now retired with millions. The working class can kiss my arse comes to mind.

For over 25 years TMBC have been corrupt vile sleaze balls.
They were very closely linked to Owen Oyston rapist, protectors of Pendry and Sheldon activities and instrumental in using the tactics of mafia fear style controlmethods.
Now with that history you would think the Tories would spill the beans big time over recent years whilst knowing the facts but they have been content to remain under the thumb regardless of their leaflets, plus you would think the Tameside law would have gained enough evidence to sink this rotten ship, but their tight closeness to TMBC has been solid. All politics and administrations throughout Tameside are still bent, corrupt, and undemocratic.
The TMBC tentacles have achieved
their controls into all the major public service organisations whether it be housing, health, law,
education, planning, media, voting, systems, including conservative politicians who ride on the back of Labour because they were shackled many years ago by R.Oldham and his devious tactics of control methods.
If ever a UK Council should have been dismantled for its conduct then TMBC should have been first.
Amazing that whistle blowers within TMBC have shown cowardice
and complicity in keeping quiet, which indicates their support for a bunch of scoundrels
It shouldn't be difficult to locate R.Oldhams will and note the wealth of the Oldham`s gained from the Tameside tax payers.
The majority of the Tameside public have shown themselves to be pathetic, ignorant, brain dead zombies who have also been guilty of dragging this region into the gutter.
Immigrants are not the worst threat to Tameside, the worst is TMBC and so vent your fury that way first.

Only in a Borough with enough brainless dross can vermin like Tameside Labour maintain their monopoly on power.
In my opinion selective democracy (locally and nationally) with a basic intelligence test, should be introduced. Amongst those who should be barred from voting: People with more than 70% of their working lives unemployed; criminals (unless they've gone ten years without a conviction); foreigners (unless they've lived here full time for fifteen years. At the moment Commonwealth citizens are given instant full voting rights the minute they set foot on British soil, don't ask why, it obviously suits the powers that be).
The voting age should also be put back to 21, serving soldiers excepted.
A mountain of rights and a molehill of responsibilities, for individuals and nations is a recipe for chaos and self-destruction

Attrition said...

It's the electorate's fault. Large numbers of the more intelligent electors don't bother to vote. They're too lazy, apathetic and slf absorbed to get informed or involved in what's happening to their area. Regular turnouts of 25 - 30% bear witness to this.

SerpentSlayer said...

I dont agree witht he 70% unemployed thing. have been unemployed all of my 'working' life through no fault of my own and yet i ahve a very good understanding of politics.

It would be better if there was an intelligence requirement or better yet rule by corporations without the terrible system of democracy to destroy our industry and export jobs abroad.

I agree with the rest, that is if we are to live under a system where two numbskulls can outvote a genius.

Hang 'em high said...

Only numbskulls, foreigners, traitors or enemies could possibly support Labour after what they did to Britain 1997 - 2010.

Anon@22.06, thank you ever so dearly for providing the information on TEL. I thought I was fairly clued up on matters related to Tameside but for some reason I totally missed this scandal. Why have the newspapers not exposed the scandal?

Anonymous said...

TEL is going back roughly to 1994/5 It was in all the papers,Radio4, North west tonight & even Parliament. The police were involved but the crown prosecution service said there was not enough evidence to charge them. Look in the newpaper archives at the Library. Roy was on TV and said let's put the loss of £2m (tax payers money) behind us & look forward. The Conservatives brought their own newspaper out called TEL TALES that went to every house & still Labour won in Tameside

MMNNnnnn...vote Labour.... said...

Labour could put 19 known paedophiles up and still win in this Borough.

Whilst I myself detest JT the manic way in which you repeat and repeat your alleged experiences needs curtailing.
I do not know you,but I have also had some disturbing actions via TMBC.

I do not dwell as you do,but collate as much evidence as I can and when the time is beneficial to me it will come out like a shot from a barrel with no warning to the TMBC scum.

This above is the OFCOM site where
licences for Radio Stations are granted subject to conditions.
They are open to receive complaints if you believe the broadcasting structure is not impartial.
The TMBC Labourite administration
should not be directly associated or indirectly linked to a Radio Station in my view.
Tameside Radio in its early period was given financial aid with your Council Tax money and therefore limits the impartiality and independence of any such radio broadcasting unit.
Labourite supporters establish organisations knowing full well your money will find its way into their pockets.
You have been milked dry by TMBC who then rely on such organisations by whatever means to support any such administration like TMBC,so you are therefore without your knowledge financing the groups who keep TMBC in power.
Listen for any signs of Tameside Radio showing supporting comments linked to TMBC.

This vile woman, Lynne Featherstone of the Liberal Democrats poses a greater danger to our nation than any individual Muslim. Yesterday at conference she said:

"Civil partnerships were a welcome first step – but this party rejects prejudice and discrimination in all its forms"

She then went on to say homosexual marriages will be made legal within three years.

Now I truly have no problem with gay people but what I do have a problem with is degenerate corrupters of our way of life. Note what Featherstone says about gay civil partnerships, they were a "welcome first step". Until people understand the Frankfurt School methods employed by creatures like Featherstone, they will never be able to understand the dynamics driving our national suicidal death march. Their methodology is simple when you understand their modus operandi. In a nutshell they continually push the boundaries of decency. For years they demand homosexual civil partnerships. As soon as they achieve that goal they start demanding homosexual marriage. When that is achieved they will present demand after demand until everything that was once normal is abolished and degeneracy continues its inexorable march through the institutions.

Ironically the only conceivable way that bestial creatures such as Featherstone and her ilk can be halted is when Islam becomes dominant in Britain. When Britain becomes Britistan, do not think for one moment that people like Roy West will be first for the chop. The Muslims are a deeply socially conservative people and their number one enemy will be the degenerates who they now use as useful idiots.

The source of cranks like Lynne Featherstone being in a position of such power goes back to the Tories general election strategy. Cameron's decision not to focus strongly on the EU and the 'distasteful' issue of immigration cost them at least thirty seats. Many people either voted UKIP or didn't turn out.

John Major got the Tory vote out to the tune of 14 million in 1997 at a time when Labour were riding relatively high in the polls due to a very unpopular Conservative government.
In 2010, against a massively unpopular and widely hated Labour government, Cameron could ony manage a Conservative turnout of 10.7 million.
A bit more 'distasteful' populism (i.e getting in touch with reality, common sense and public opinion) would have got him in with a comprehensive victory. The result of this cowardice and appallingly misjudged starategy is we're now stuck with agenda driven cranks and incompetents like Chris Huhne, Nick Clegg, Lynne Featherstone and Simon Hughes in government.

According to Tameside Radio words:
"The radio station remains a seperate entity, maintaining editorial independence under the new setup".
Utter and complete Bull Shit its yet another branch of the media which includes the Tameside Advertiser and both are intertwined with our despotic TMBC Labour scum.
Who wants this Labourite person who chose to strip huge sums of money from Tamesiders for a luxery life and then setup Tameside Radio.
Ofcom should never have granted him a broadcasting licence.
yet another close pal of Roy Oldham, and present day Councillors which tells you how far the tentacles of Labour are spread in your region.
Your being conned left and right, its time you bloody well woke up zombies.

Over the weekend, according to Cllr John Taylor's blog, the Labourites were in Ashton town centre petitioning against the dividing of the Ashton constituancy between Denton and Oldham.

SUCH HYPOCRITES!

It was the Labour Party who started the "Oldham takeover" when they removed Mossley from the Ashton constituancy and added Hollingwood (Oldham). We also got Mr Hayes as an MP, an ex-Oldham councillor. But this is quietly ignored. Once again the Labour Party starts something and then see it run out of control. Like immigration, asylum, etc etc....

Taylor's playing the victim on his blog, apparently he's being persecuted by a leafleter who doesn't like him. I remember one of the councillor's remarks about, 'If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen' a while ago. Looks like HE doesn't like the taste of his own medicine. Anyone on his side should check out some of HIS previous leaflets and tactics before taking sides.
Funny how all this only happens in one ward.

It gets better.

Shirlie Stonier (correct spelling) now uses her maiden name Shirlie Rose Traynor, yes she is the Shirlie Traynor who is a director of Tameside Radio.

Former Tameside Union rep Yvonne Valerie Anne Cartey is also a director of Tameside Radio.
