More close up Buzzard footage

It may be rather immodest of me - but I think this recent footage of a buzzard I captured is as good as anything I have seen on wildlife programmes on television.

I am now something of on authority on these interesting birds and I have a good understanding of what creatures are and are not afraid of them. Magpies and blackbirds treat the buzzard with caution but seem happy enough to scavenge its food while it still in the area but woodpigeons and squirrels do not like the look of it at all and stay well clear.

The buzzard seems very confident in my little nature reserve, but I hope it does not get too relaxed or confident because the fox lurks close by and it has been known to make daytime excursions to the spot where I leave food. And talking of food I have recently discovered the buzzard likes nothing more than cooked pasta with tomato sauce. It eats the pasta and then moves onto the mince beef for the second course.

Corvid cull looming, and long overdue.
The massive increase in crows, magpies etc in the last few years must be having a significant impact on the population of smaller garden birds/songbirds. Corvids dislike competition and routinely kill many smaller species and eat the young.
Of course there are many other factors involved, it's a complicated issue but a corvid cull is an integral part of the solution. Birds of prey may be next.
Many objectors propound superficially rational, scientific theories but behind much of it lies the modern mentality: 'If it's unpleasant it must be incorrect', this is the the sort of anti-logic and self-indulgence that drags mankind's progress in general, back.

Sorry Borg, you are barking up the wrong tree. The biggest killers of small garden birds/songbirds are cats. Forget culling Corvids and start culling cats instead.

By the way you have two buzzards in that video. A male and a female.

Cats are big killers of birds and so are corvids. The evidence for the latter is their massive population increase in urban areas in the last few years. A cat cull however is not possible.

The best footage from a local naturalist I've ever seen. Did you see the bit just after it landed where it flicked the food with its talon, I reckon that was to see if there was a trap. They're clearly not stupid.
Well done TC, I've told my friends about this film.

I am thinking of getting an iPad2 but I like Android and Flash, both of which are abscent on the iPad2. An alternative is the Motorola Xoom. Does anyone have any idea which is the best?

Try an FU2, it's equipped with the Saddo Cranial Vapourizer which will reduce your brain to useless pulp...oh hang on.

Confused have you seen the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1? It still uses the same Tegra 2 processor, but the rear camera uses a 8MP camera capable of recording in 1080p rather than the 5MP one on the Motorola which records in 720p. It's on Vodafone.

A human cull is necessary. There are too many inferior individuals. They should be selected and exterminated. This should be done in conjunction with a selective breeding programme to improve the gene pool.

Borg, you are a sick person if that's what you really believe. 24 hours ago you made a post calling for Corvids to be culled, almost 24 hours to the minute later you make a post calling for a human cull.

You are ill and need help. Go and speak to a doctor or at least switch the television on and tune into the excellent Motown at the BBC currently showing on BBC4. If this doesn't chill you out there is no hope.

People who promote inferior musical genres, like Motown, should be amongst those selected.

Taylor's win is a virtual certainty but that's not enough. The combination of low intelligence (although admittedly cunning), an inferiority complex, a massive ego and an obsession with status mean you'll do anything to protect them.

Election News Report.
In the run up to the local elections in Dukinfield. May.

Councillor John Taylor (Deputy Leader) Sent Insp. Bill Cllaghan of Stalybridge police, round to my house the other week.

John Taylor claims harassment, after my letter/leaflet. Explaining his meeting with the head of a well known criminal family from Hyde.
His working relationship with far-left groups in Dukinfield.
Working with the criminal led Searchlight group.

Taylor can give it out, but boy, when he gets it back he runs off to the police.

Taylor's only scared of one thing, Quinn snuffing it. Imagine that semi-literate spiv trying to run a metropolitan borough.

25% turnout. Another dreadful day for democracy.

Labour are celebrating the win and their tremendous achievement in getting 521 (a pathetic 10.7%) of the nearly 5000 electorate to vote for them:
In a northern working class area, in the middle of the massive Tory cuts.
Bear in mind the fifteen standing Labour councillors are bound to have ten or fifteen relatives/friends etc each in this ward as Burnley is a small place, who can be totally relied upon to turn out so that probably constitutes over 200 of these votes, demonstrating what a pathetic result this is. Labour deserted the British working class and have justly been deserted in return.

One graph, it's all so simple. Now all Ed the Marxist and his appalling, talent-free zone, shadow cabinet have to do is persuade an extra six million people to vote for them (and forget the ruination they visited on the economy, AND mass unwanted Third World immigration, AND crime and gang ridden ghettos everywhere, AND being ethnically cleansed from their own neighbourhoods, AND Afghanistan, AND Iraq...). Should be a doddle.

Dear John
I've made a start today, on the first of 4 cards for Dukinfield.
Can I ask a favour? can you up your number of helpers from 30/40.
To 100 or so? It makes me feel important.
It makes me feel motivated.
Thanks.
