Tameside must be the traffic light capital of western Europe. TMBC's answer (not solution) to every traffic situation is to put another set of lights in (Crown Point?). The vast majority of the time: part time lights, a bit of road re-engineering, new signage or mini-roundabouts would be the solution to improving traffic flow. The latter however is not the council's priority, their interest is in control, delay, obstruction, slowing traffic speeds to ludicrously low levels and generally making life as unpleasant as possible for road users.
It goes without saying that the result of this large number of vehicles constantly stopping and starting massively increases the emission of pollutants into the air. And it's children who suffer most as a result.
Amazing how the brain dead slink away after people expose and prove their comments are crap.
Its their perpetual coming back for more that indicates their numbness.

Should anyone commenting on the Mottram ByPass rejection,absorb these FACTS.
1.Living in Tameside reduces you to several years short of the national average life span.
2 The ByPass intended as a Main Parallel route to the M62 was to dump a further daily 40,000 vehicles onto the M67 to Junction 24,from Yorkshire,Humberside,and Europe.
3 Result being almost 400,000 vehicles with increasing HGV`s directed into Junction 24 via the M67 affecting thousands of families.
4.It even had an intended Route Name sorted,"The Neta Route" and an office was created in TMBC to push the issue.
5. Any slow moving single lane traffic through Tintwistle,Hollingworth and Mottram Moor could be eliminated by a HGV ban on the Woodhead Road,
but TMBC and HA refused any trial or consideration of this obvious answer for years because doing so would have destroyed their real objectives for the Neta Route,and exposed their deception re the 3 Villages.
6.Not one TMBC Councillor,Tameside MP,or R.Oldham the spearhead for the ByPass ever came near the PI because they would have been exposed for their devious deception.
7.TMBC have for 12 years constantly and regularly refused to allow air pollution monitoring in the M67/M60/A57 vicinity because it would blow any credibility they might have sky high.
8 TMBC however stuck a large Air Pollution Station onto Mottram Moor
in an effort to get some readings by positioning it 8 feet from vehicle exhausts,and its still there.
9 TMBC in their own words stated years ago,that they had installed the Tameside Large Air Pollution Monitoring Station away from major roads and highways to ascertain air pollution in Tameside.

48 DVD Films I made were sent to all regional Press TV and Radio Editors and Producers concerning the bombardment over 4 years of biased reporting on the Mottram ByPass,with the persistant pictures of an HGV passing through Tintwistle,Hollingworth,Mottram. I filmed at various times and days to show reality over a two month period not spin.
The same methods were used to show the daily 350,000 vehicles from 23 lanes at the M67/M60/A57 location as a comparison of the two seperate reality situations
because the Labour Party and Councils had harnessed and shackled the media groups,resulting in not one of the recipents acknowledged or indicated any interest whatsoever in what was objectively being shown on DVD films.

Ther's plenty of money to extend the congestion generating tram, that virtually no-one (and certainly no-one informed and sane) wants.
It will transport a miniscule proportion of the public and create delay on all its on road sections, particularly Ashton New Rd.
An obsolete, inflexible (why do you think the lines were dug up in the first place, when the local population was significantly lower than it is now) and chronically expensive to install and maintain form of transport, perpetuated by cranks, pressure groups, car hating lefties and tree huggers that will cause far MORE congestion, delay, obstruction and pollution. But as Mr Hall points out there's apparently no money to resolve the mega bottleneck where the M67 meets the M60, something which actually WOULD benefit the environment and economy of Tamesiders.
The lunatic (that's not a euphemism) rail lobby are now pushing for the High Speed 2 link on the trains from London to Birmingham etc, that will cut a few minutes off the journeys of businessmen and simultaneously destroy large swathes of England's most beautiful virgin countryside in areas such as the Chilterns. It will cost (at least) a mind blowing £17 billion (17 thousand million) in the middle of a chronic economic slump, and while Britain is struggling desperately to pay back the megadebt bequeathed by Labour.
Many 'anti' campaign have been set up (check online and sign) and hopefully this particular piece of railmania insanity will be crushed.
It was recently described as 'A train set for the fortunate few' and even the rail lobby is split, with many saying the money should be wasted...sorry spent on the existing rail infrastructure.
