The Tories are not performing 'appallingly'. Take a look at the historical political make-up of Tameside Council. Apart from a brief moment during the 70s when the Tories controlled Tameside thanks to the grammar school fight, they have always had low numbers.
When Tameside was formed they had 13 councillors. During the 80s they had ten at the most, and during the 90s they were completely wiped out, only to return in the noughties.
The Tory Group is a hard working team. However, the doleites, benefit spongers, scrotes, and Labour voters know which side their bread is buttered and always do enough to ensure Labour slime back into power year after year.
The fact is almost 80 per cent of the total electorate do not vote Labour.
The Tories failure to get their vote out is what costs them. Tameside has a relatively low proportion of scroungers, scum and recently imported Commonwealth immigrants, i.e the main components of Labour support. Consequently the Tories should be doing a lot better. Nationally Cameron's cowardly failure to hammer the immigration issue during the general election campaign cost them thirty seats minimum.

Let's hope the Tories never allow Tameside to turn the way of Ealing. Take a look at this for a waste of council tax money.
That ISN'T Ealing it's become, something else.
Locally why ARE the Tories performing so appallingly?

...but Labour control 90% of the seats. The system stinks!

Where has KY Marland gone and will he be back to contest SS for Labour again this year?
Ky's off to StalyDuk to take the candidate's post for 2012, when Labour dump Cartwright.
